My brother in-law is an artist. He is very good at many aspects of art, pencil, painting, and charcoal. But he is not so good at 3D art. Sculpting is not his most favorite medium of art, but he still gets out the clay and practices.
We like my brother in-law are artist, we are all artist when it comes to listening. We are good at listening to our friends, family, and coworkers. But most of us are not good a listening in 3D. Let me explain we who are Christians worship God who is the creator and sustainer of all things. We Christians are not very good at listening to what God is saying to us. Since we are not good at 3D listening we often avoid it. Like my brother in-law we need to get out the “clay/prayer” and practice. Eventually the more we practice the better we will be really living life to the fullest.
I consider myself to me a very good listner but I have never thought of it in that perspective. I listen to what everyone else has to say but don’t listen when God is talking or calls. Thanks for the reminder.
